A Home Refresh in McKinney, TX

We had worked with the owners of this McKinney, Texas home about a year previously to update some of their furniture and decor, and they recently decided to update some of the home’s finishes to make it feel more current. Before, it had a dark tan paint color on every wall in the house, dark brown granite countertops that blended into the dark brown cabinets, and lighting fixtures with a lot of curled iron detailing that the clients didn't like.

We freshened the look of the entire house by having all the walls painted a warm white. We chose a white and gray quartzite for the kitchen counters and backsplash. It has some light tans in it to bring a more cool color way into the kitchen while still connecting to the warm wood of the cabinets, wood floors, and the stone fireplace. We had the dark tan tile floor in the kitchen replaced with much lighter tiles laid in an offset pattern. We chose new lighting and ceiling fans for almost every room in the house, which even by itself went a long way towards making the house look more up to date.
